VoteHandmade.com: A Reddit for Crafters

New website allows members to vote and submit art links from all over the web

Tucson, AZ – Today marked the launch of a new social media website, VoteHandmade.com. Powered by Reddit code and ArtFire.com, Vote Handmade serves as a link sharing platform for artisans and crafters of all types and specialties. On VoteHandmade.com, users can share handmade items from venues all over the web with fellow users, up voting and down voting just like on Reddit. This allows artisans the opportunity to not only socialize and share links, but also to promote their quality product and drive buyers to their online studio.

VoteHandmade.com also aggregates news, instruction and business tips for the online craft world. With hundreds of thousands of handmade sellers and millions of handmade items currently listed for sale on the internet, VoteHandmade.com is a great place to see the best of all venues and all artists as voted on by their peers. VoteHandmade is like the world’s largest juried craft show. Any user can submit an item from any site. VoteHandmade is free to use, free to join, and free to promote.

Looks cool! What is the Tucson AZ location in the press release all about? (Curious…as I am in Tucson myself!)
Heard you on Craftcast yesterday Tim, and you’ll be seeing my IP all over your stats! Thanks for teaching! (Isn’t it interesting how all of our life experiences get rolled into our activities? So cool!)

great idea, although i am a bit daunted by the idea of a constant competition - potentially could be a bit exhausting or demoralizing, if you aren’t doing well.

    Will obviously check it out!

    Hey there Tim,
You are like a house on fire!! Those metal gears in your head never stop, do they?!! I’m feeling very much in the loop now, and it feels like I’m in good hands! Here’s an idea you might want to consider. Maybe you could slow it down a notch, or create a niche for the very new newbie!! A pace we can build on without feeling steamrollered!! WHEW!!

Looks like a neat site, although I wasn’t able to sign up because of what looks like a technical problem. The sign up box would not advance for me to put in the security code & submit. I’ll try again later.
